Jesup (KWWL) - Waterloo Columbus shook off a slow start in a turnover-plagued first quarter to open district play with a 35-18 win over Jesup. Sailors QB/DB Amani Robinson both threw an interception and made an interception in the first half as both teams turned the ball over repeatedly in the first half. The Sailors got on the board in the 2nd as Robinson connected with Mason Smith on a 22-yard TD pass to make it 7-0. On the ensuing kickoff, the J-Hawks Aidan Youngblut returned the kick for a 92-yard score to cut the lead to 7-6. The Sailors would add another TD before the half as Robinson and Bryce Noland connected on a 10-yard passing TD.
