ST. LOUIS – Before his team faced off with the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium Sept. 19, Pat Murphy was hesitant to commit to any specific role for Jacob Misiorowski in the playoffs. With two weeks left before the Milwaukee Brewers would play in the National League Division Series, he said, there simply wasn’t a need to.

About five hours later, Murphy changed his tone a bit.

“Obviously, he’s not doing great on the front end here, so that’s got to be a consideration,” the Milwaukee Brewers manager said following a 7-1 loss to the Cardinals in which Misiorowski scuffled again.
