It was meant to offer a new political home to leftwing voters who had lost faith in Labour under Sir Keir Starmer, but Jeremy Corbyn’s new venture is teetering on the brink of collapse before it has even started.

Serious doubts have emerged over the formation of the new left wing party founded by the former Labour leader and ex-Labour MP Zarah Sultana after an extraordinary row broke out between the pair on Thursday.
