An unusual gum tree featuring eight limbs sprouting from its trunk has stunned thousands of Aussies.
The “very funky” eucalyptus found growing on a woman’s rural property in NSW’s Hunter Valley left many in awe after she posted an image of the “cool” tree online this week.
At first look, the gum appears to have randomly grown several ‘fingers’, but upon closer inspection, black wires can be seen protruding from each one.

The odd detail prompted numerous people to ponder if the plant had at one point been used as a fence post. “It looks like it, we have a few trees like this on the fence line,” the owner of the property responded on the Facebook page dedicated to the native evergreens.
