Hozier isn’t afraid to get political.

The singer often uses his platform as a popular artist to champion causes he believes in. And his show at the Hersheypark Stadium on Sept. 19 was no different.

The commentary began during the anti-war anthem “Eat Your Young.”

As the band performed, the stadium screens displayed numbers, such as the rising stock price of weapon and aerospace manufacturer Lockheed Martin, the number of children displaced due to global conflicts, and the combined wealth of the five richest people in the world.

Later in the show, Hozier performed one of his early hits, “Take Me To Church.” The song’s lyrics include jabs at the judgment of sexuality that comes from religion, a message punctuated by Hozier tying a LGBT flag to his microphone stand.
