KINGSFORD — The Escanaba Eskymos went on the road and earned a 5-3 girls’ tennis victory over the Kingsford Flivvers here Thursday.
“The weather was a bit iffy throughout the evening, but we were able to play 16 jayvees today as well as getting our entire varsity meet played,” Esky coach Chris Ogren said. “All of our (varsity) wins were pretty comfortable. Olivia Vogel and Varrah Veeser are used to playing longer matches at No. 2 and 3 singles, but both were able to win quickly today.”
Vogel took a 6-1, 6-0 decision from Alice Hall in the No. 2 match and Veeser topped Maddy Zeuske 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3.
