HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A ceremony celebrated the Aloha Festivals Royal Court at the Waikiki Beach Walk Friday.

The event began with live music as the court made their way to the ceremony on the beach walk.

A hula kahiko performance was done by Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie, then the court was presented with hookupu (gifts).

On Saturday, Kalakaua Avenue will be closed from 6-10 p.m. for the Waikiki Hoolaulea for the Waikiki Hoolaulea.

Organizers said that musicians will play on five stages and there will be about 80 food and craft vendors.

The Floral Parade takes place next Saturday, Sept. 27, which will go from Ala Moana Park to Kapiolani Park from 9 a.m. to noon.
