Vice President JD Vance is poised to inherit the powerful Charlie Kirk political movement and could even run with Kirk’s widow on the next Republican presidential ticket.
Vance and Kirk shared an extremely close personal and political bond, and after Kirk’s killing, the vice president filled in as host on the podcast “The Charlie Kirk Show” and pleaded for national unity while celebrating Kirk’s life and work.
“If it weren’t for Charlie Kirk, I would not be the vice president of the United States…it’s one of the reasons why I feel so indebted to him,” Vance said on the podcast.
After Kirk’s assassination, Vance cancelled all his planned appearances and flew to Utah, with his wife, Usha, to accompany Erika Kirk and Charlie Kirk’s casket aboard Air Force Two back to Kirk’s home in Arizona
