FARGO — Ten days before Labor Day, the city of Fargo posted notice of a public forum to be held the Thursday before the holiday weekend, "to discuss proposed alternatives for an interchange upgrade at 64th Avenue South and Interstate 29."
The news came as an unpleasant surprise to a group of homeowners who live east of I-29, on or adjacent to 64th Avenue, many of whom were under the impression an interchange would never be added in that location.
The group has since come together and organized in opposition to the proposal, claiming the city has gone back on its word about how the area would be developed, and that the impacts to traffic, homeowners and the community weren't sufficiently studied before the Fargo Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments, the region's planning commissio
