An undefeated season and a fifth consecutive senior NWFL flag awaited Devonport at the final siren of Saturday, September 20's grand final.

But for Magpies' coach Justin Rodman, the 122-point victory against Wynyard was just "an awesome way to finish off the year".

" Last year was pretty special , being the first one, but [Saturday] was clinical and relentless," Rodman said post-match at the Latrobe Football Ground.

"We got the game on our terms pretty early, and we probably didn't hit the scoreboard where we wanted to. We missed a couple, but it's terrific from the boys to persist.

"Our focus [heading into the game] was making sure we could turn up and play well. The results are part and parcel of hopefully getting the process right."
