Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has reportedly left his role as director of football at Salford City as he targets a return to management.

The 51-year-old had been serving as director of football at the League Two club, while also supporting manager Karl Robinson on matchdays. However, according to The Sun , he is no longer involved in the day-to-day operations at Salford and is not expected to attend their home game against Swindon this afternoon.

Before taking on the role at the club co-owned by himself, Paul Scholes, David Beckham, and Gary Neville , Giggs managed the Wales national team and led them to Euro 2020 qualification. However, he missed the tournament after stepping down from his position in November 2020.
