Manchester United icon Edwin van der Sar has opened up about the brain haemorrhage he suffered in 2023, and how he is leading a more peaceful life since.

The Dutch shot-stopper arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2005, having impressed for newly promoted side Fulham . A reported fee of £2million was paid for his services.

Van der Sar immediately became Sir Alex Ferguson's first-choice goalkeeper and didn't disappoint. He starred between the sticks for the Red Devils until 2011, making over 250 appearances. He won four Premier League titles and a Champions League crown with United.
