TRAVERSE CITY — Northern Michigan residents and community leaders are weighing options for future political events following last weekend’s candlelit vigil downtown in memory of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed on Sept. 10.
Leaders in local government and political parties throughout Grand Traverse County have noted a rise in community response since Kirk’s death. The Turning Point USA CEO and podcaster was assassinated during a “Prove Me Wrong” event on Utah Valley University’s Orem campus.
