If the Immigration Museum closes (“ Immigration Museum ’set up to fail ‴⁣⁣, 20/9), the collective record of the significant contributions of the multifarious cultures to Australian society may be consigned to the mists of history.

The recent anti-immigration protests will be the sole voice heard and the rich tapestry of food, culture and colour may be lost to the generations to follow.

It will be a metaphorical return to the days of “meat and two veg”.
