Nothing like basking in the sunshine in late September here in the Pacific Northwest. The only fly in the ointment was wildfire smoke from Northern Washington ushered into Clark County on brisk northerly winds.

That produced hazy skies Thursday and Friday, but it was not unusual this time of the year as the wildfire season winds down.

That weak weather system I discussed the other day is still on track for early Sunday, but now it appears we will get some rain to settle the dust and filter our airshed. Forecast models are all over the place, but anywhere from a 10th of an inch to a quarter of an inch appears appropriate. Of course, we welcome whatever we can get, because it has been so dry this summer.
