This article discusses the completion of a tunnel for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project and its future plans.

The excavation of a 4.88 km long tunnel between Shilfata and Ghansoli for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project was finished on Saturday morning. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav was present during this event and called it a significant achievement.

Vaishnav announced that the first phase of the high-speed rail corridor on the Surat-Bileimora section is set to start in December 2027. He explained that while Google Maps shows it takes nine hours to travel from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, the bullet train will complete the journey in just two hours and seven minutes.
