After the 77th Emmy Awards Ceremony concluded, Texas Senator Ted Cruz wrote on X:

“Hollywood claims they’re all about free speech. And yet not even ONE of them could muster a word about ⁦@charliekirk11⁩ being assassinated because of his speech.”

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was killed by a shotgun last week, during an event he was hosting for Turning Point USA at Utah Valley University, shocking all the nation.

Cruz noted that not a single celebrity, nor the Television Academy, used the spotlight to acknowledge Charlie Kirk’s death. He also criticized that politics were addressed in the Awards.

Hacks star Hannah Einbinder won best supporting actress in a comedy award, and during her speech she stated “Fuck ICE and free Palestine!”

During the red carpet, Hacks star Megan Stalter called for a Gaza ceasefire wearing a purse with the words “CEASE FIRE!”

Mary Steenburgen was awarded with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award with her husband, Ted Danson, and to conclude her speech, she said, “Life is made up of two emotions: love and fear. The world is a little out of balance right now. We don’t want to live in fear. So we make ourselves useful for organizations that move this scale away from fear and put it smack dab in the middle of love.”
