The medical director for the Health Department of Northwest Michigan is urging everyone to get the COVID-19 vaccine this year despite a change in recommendations from federal health officials.

Meanwhile, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive directive on Wednesday, Sept. 17 designed to ensure Michigan residents have access to COVID-19 vaccines. The directive instructs state agencies to identify and eliminate barriers that may prevent residents from accessing COVID-19 vaccinations.
