LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- Police shot and killed a homicide suspect early Saturday during a shootout that erupted after a high-speed chase ended outside an In-N-Out Burger in Laguna Hills, authorities said.
The suspect was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman in Carlsbad, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of gunfire in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Rising Glen Way, the Carlsbad Police Department said in a statement.
The arriving officers found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds who was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman's vehicle was taken during the shooting, police said.
