Pittsburgh’s lack of rain over the past two months has set a dubious-if-specific record, seen the U.S. Drought Monitor expand drought designations in the area and led a water company to advise curtailing usage.

According to the National Weather Service in Moon, just 2.36 inches of rain fell at its recording station at Pittsburgh International Airport between July 18 and Sept. 18, the lowest amount over the same two-month span in any recorded year.
That’s 5.11 inches less than last year, and nearly an inch less than the next driest comparable stretch, in 1995.
