ALLEN PARK -- Detroit Lions starting edge rusher Marcus Davenport will not play against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 on Monday Night Football.

Davenport’s status for this week’s game is not surprising. He has not practiced all week and was spotted with his right arm in a sling on Friday.

That said, Lions coach Dan Campbell is optimistic that Davenport’s chest injury is not season-ending. Honestly, that’s about as good news as possible out of this situation and concerning his injury history.

“I don’t see Davenport playing,” Campbell said. “We’re still trying to decide what to do. We’ve gotten some other tests back. We do not feel this is season ending. But don’t see him playing this week.”
