Is the Carney government about to move forward with their gun confiscation program or is this simply a voluntary program to buy guns from legal owners? The real answer is it depends on who you talk to and perhaps what your political view of the situation is.

Prime Minister Mark Carney caused some confusion last week when he appeared on with Ryan Jespersen during his swing through Alberta. Jespersen asked Carney about Premier Daneille Smith’s order that no one in the Alberta government participate in the confiscation program.

Carney disputed that there is such a program.
