Cameras caught UAB Blazers safety Sirad Bryant trying to injure Tennessee Volunteers kicker Max Gilbert with a vicious cheap shot maneuver that should have (but did not) gotten him ejected.

After Max Gilbert converted an extra point attempt in the first quarter, Sirad Bryant went over and bumped Volunteers holder Jackson Ross before “cleating” the Tennessee kicker in a gutless act of bad sportsmanship:

Somehow, Bryant was only hit with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for his actions but avoided an ejection. Thankfully, Gilbert wasn’t seriously injured and remains in the game.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Sirad Bryant spent his first three college seasons at Georgia Tech before transferring to UAB in 2024. Entering today’s contest, he had eight tackles, and two pass breakups over the Blaze
