MARIETTA, Ga. — Marietta Police said a man is dead and three others are hurt after a serious accident closed a road early Saturday morning.

At around 7:30 a.m., police announced in a Facebook post that Powder Springs Road at Laurel Springs Lane SW is closed following the incident. Drivers were being diverted to an alternate route through neighborhoods.

According to police, an 18-year-old from Mableton in a 2007 Lexus RX350 was traveling northbound on Powder Springs Street near the intersection of Laurel Springs Lane.
