CROSBY — It’s been a hot start to the season for the Crosby-Ironton Ranger volleyball team.
Senior captain Sammie Hachey has played a major role in the Rangers' 10-2 start. The outside hitter tallied 53 kills and 84 digs last week when the Rangers won two matches and finished 3-1 at their home tournament.
“Our team has been doing a lot better and we’ve been having a lot of tight games, so that helps me push to finish games and lead my team,” Hachey said.
She started last week with five kills, two ace serves and 17 digs Sept. 9 in a 3-0 win against Hinckley-Finlayson. She followed it with 11 kills and seven digs Sept. 11 in a 3-0 win against Braham. She finished the week with 37 kills and 61 digs in four games Sept. 13 during the C-I tournament. The Rangers went 3-1 with wins over Pine R
