BOZEMAN — In the second year of its transition from Division II to the FCS, the Mercyhurst football team is making a second trip in as many seasons to Bobcat Stadium.

The Lakers (1-2) are 29.5-point underdogs to No. 4-ranked Montana State (1-2) in Saturday's game, which kicks off at 1 p.m.

Mercyhurst fell 52-13 to MSU in the 2024 game, which was added to the schedule late because Stephen F. Austin canceled its game against the Bobcats . That plus Saturday's meeting (scheduled before the 2024 season) gives MSU the same nonconference opponent in consecutive regular seasons for the first time since 2008 and '09 (South Dakota).

MSU beat San Diego 41-7 at home last week, while Mercyhurst is coming off a competitive road loss to another ranked Big Sky Conference tea
