CHARLOTTE — The Panthers made a move Saturday to add depth to the offensive line for the home opener.

The team activated practice squad guard Brandon Walton from the practice squad by standard elevation.

Practice squad players can be elevated three times in a season before they have to be added to the active roster to be able to play again.

Walton's a known commodity, having been with coaches Joe Gilbert and Harold Goodwin in Tampa Bay, and spending last year on the Panthers' practice squad. He was with the team throughout the offseason and camp. Last year, he was active for one game, also against the Falcons here.
