PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A man was killed following a shootout with police Saturday morning, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

The PPB says the incident began about 8:45 a.m., when officers were called to the scene of a disturbance at a gas station in the 8400 block of Southeast Foster Road.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had threatened an employee at the gas stion before fleeing the scene.

Police say the man was located by officers about 30 minutes later at another gas station - in the area of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Division Street.

During what police deemed a “high-risk” traffic stop, officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who was struck and taken to a hospital where he later died.
