PASAY — Canada has been eliminated from the men's volleyball world championship.

The Canadians fell 3-1 to top-ranked Poland on Saturday to end their tournament.

The Poles took the opening set 25-18 before Canada pushed back to grab the second 25-23, but were unable to keep that momentum going in losing 25-20 and 25-14 to close out the match.

No. 9 Canada held a 52-48 edge in attack points, but made 35 errors compared to Poland's 16.

Sharone Vernon-Evans topped the scoring chart with 23 points for the Canadians.

The Poles will face Turkey in the quarterfinals.
