JEFFERSONVILLE – Jeffersonville scored two goals in the second half while pulling away to a 3-0 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during girls high school soccer action on Saturday.
The Red Devils improved to 7-1-1 overall (3-0 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) while the Stars fell to 2-7-1 (0-5-1 in the league). Jeffersonville scored twice in less than a minute late in the final frame.
“They have some tough defenders and we were not able to get the ball past them,” BNL coach Bret Roberts said. “I also think the heat got to us today. Our goalie had 17 saves and played a great game. We let them score two quick goals back to back, and they had two very good defenders that prevented us from having many offensive opportunities.”
BNL will host Salem on Tuesday.
