The University of Toledo rowing team made its debut Saturday, competing in the Glass City Regatta on the Maumee River at International Park.

The event, hosted by the Toledo Rowing Foundation, featured college, club, and high school entries.

“You’ve got all these different people who in some capacity have touched your program, and I think it’s really special to be able to have those people come out for an event,” UT coach Chris Bailey-Greene said.

“It’s really special to see the community come out and say, we see you, we see the work you do,” said Bailey-Greene. “We see the connection of the girls on your team, and we can’t wait to see how it elevates and evolves over time.”

UT entered one boat in the open-8 event, two boats in the open-4 event, and two boats in the novice-8 event.
