These six miniseries have some seriously dark endings. Some of the best TV shows of the last 20 years have been miniseries. It's arguably the perfect format for a television show. It gives you the long-form storytelling afforded by television but artificially constrains the showrunner so that they have to produce something worthwhile in only a few episodes.

Miniseries tend to deal with some heavy thematic material. Whether they're fictional or based on true stories, most miniseries tend to have some high stakes. You don't see a lot of comedic miniseries. Still, a lot of miniseries have positive endings , but not these miniseries; these have dark finales.
