The Wisconsin football program is unrecognizable these days.

It is for the fans and it is especially for former players, who are struggling to comprehend what they continue to watch every Saturday in recent years.

The 2025 version of the Badgers no-showed in their Big Ten opener and were thoroughly throttled by the Maryland Terrapins, 27-10 , leaving fans inside Camp Randall Stadium to call for the firing of head coach Luke Fickell .

Former players didn't go that far with Fickell, but they expressed their frustrations with the performance, nonetheless, a trend over the last three years during ugly losses.

"I don't even know what to say at this point," Melvin Gordon, the Badgers' star running back from 2011-14 who played in a Rose Bowl and other high profile bowl games, wrote on X
