The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office was this year's presenting sponsor of the fourth annual "Running Down Recidivism 5K Run."

The race benefitted The BRAVE Effect , a nonprofit that provides resources to former inmates as they re-integrate into their community.

Founder Joe Jenkins spent several years of his life in the federal prison system, beginning with his first incarceration at the Hamilton County Jail, HCSO says:

"Throughout his time in prison and upon release, Joe dedicated himself to changing not only his life, but the lives of other inmates as well. The HCSO is pleased to be the first jail to host The Brave Effect and allow Joe and his staff the opportunity to work with inmates."
