Friday night’s football game between Gresham and David Douglas ended prematurely, as an injury to a Gresham player caused the teams to call off the action.

With nine and a half minutes left in the third quarter of the game at David Douglas High School, Scots running back Malakai Fong took a handoff and ran with the ball to his left. Fong collided with Gresham junior Tucker Santilanes, who collapsed to the ground motionless.

After the play ended, players from both sides were ushered to the sideline and coaches and medical personnel attended to Santilanes. After 20 minutes, an ambulance drove onto the field and players and coaches from both teams gathered on the field to see Santilanes off.
