A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for helping Wolfpack gang killer Rabih (Robby) Alkhalil escape from a Port Coquitlam jail three years ago has been arrested.
On Saturday, B.C.’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit said in a news release that John Potvin, 49, was apprehended in Spain on Thursday.
On Sept. 8, officers notified the public of 17 charges laid in the Alkhalil escape investigation.

Potvin and two others — Ryan Van Gool, 46, of Harrison Hot Springs and Edward Ayoub, 48, of Ottawa — were charged with conspiracy to commit prison breach, as well as prison breach.
Van Gool was arrested last month while Ayoub was already in jail on another charge. Until now, the whereabouts of Potvin was unknown.
