PRATT, Kan. (KSNW) — What started as a disturbance call in Pratt on Friday spiraled into a tense, hours-long standoff that ended with a man being flushed from a crawl space beneath his home.
Police say it began around 4:45 p.m. when a woman on Champa Street reported harassment by a man she already had a protection order against.
The suspect allegedly sped through the neighborhood in an older Suburban, nearly hitting another car, and later circled the woman’s home, blaring the horn, police said.
At one point, officers say he threw mortar-style fireworks at children in the yard. No one was hurt.
When police tracked him to a house on Champa, they were met by aggressive dogs and then watched as the man barricaded himself inside. The Pratt County Sheriff’s Special Response Team was called i
