BALTIMORE — As a kid growing up in the Bahamas, Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm had his life figured out while he was still in grade school.

“I was going to be a big leaguer,” he said.

By then, he was a baseball prodigy.

He always had the same personality, too. He was talkative and fun.

He also could get into some mischief with his buddies, but says he was smart enough to make sure he never was caught or talked himself out of discipline.

That’s what happened on the school day a kid threw some food at him. Jazz retaliated by whipping his whole tray and it turned full-fledged food fight.

Chisholm was called into the principal’s office, then explained that he was minding his own business until someone threw food at it.

“They listened to me, then told me I was right,” Chisholm
