PHOENIX — A crash near Wickenburg on Saturday left three people dead and three others hurt, according to officials with the Congress Fire District.

Congress first responders, along with Wickenburg Fire, Priority and Lifeline ambulances, responded to the crash and found two heavily damaged vehicles at the scene. Three people were confirmed dead on the scene, officials said.

One person was taken by helicopter to a hospital and two others were taken to a trauma center by ambulance, officials said.

A witness told officials an Acura going northbound tried to pass another car in a no-passing zone when a car going southbound crashed into the Acura, Yavapai County Fire officials said.
