SPOKANE, Wash. -- 75 kids geared up for the Salvation Army's annual Shop with a Cop event at the Spokane Valley Old Navy Saturday morning.

The Salvation Army worked with the a local school district to identify families in need that could benefit from this opportunity.

Kids got to walk through the store with law enforcement officers from the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, Spokane Valley Police and Washington State Patrol.

Each child got $150 to spend on new clothes, making sure they were fully prepared for the new school year and the cooler temperatures underway.

"The smiles tell it all," said Captain Kelly Cain with the Salvation Army. "They're excited to see cops, people that they look up to, they're excited to walk through and just get to pick whatever and just have so much fun."
