PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It will be mostly clear this evening with a few thunderstorms possible in higher terrain north and east of Phoenix. Lows will drop into the low 80s.

A cutoff low to our west will spin some energy and moisture our way on Sunday. This will bring in some clouds and potentially some virga during the day. Remember that virga is rain that evaporates before it hits the ground. Sunday’s high will be around 100.

By Sunday evening, there will be a 20% chance of rain and thunderstorms in the Valley. A few additional showers and storms are possible in the Valley from Sunday overnight into Monday. Whether the showers materialize or not, some cloud cover on Monday should keep it a little cooler with highs in the upper 90s. Autumn will officially start on Monday at 11:19 a.m.
