CLARK, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The annual PDR Youth Hunt is taking place this weekend, which gives youth with disabilities the chance to go on a deer hunt, work on target shooting and much more.

For the boys at the hunt, it’s not about what they can’t do because of their disabilities, but more about what they can do.

With a little guidance and a little encouragement, the hunt was the perfect space to find an outlet.

“It gives you a lot of confidence because it makes you seem like you’re able to do stuff that other people can do. It doesn’t make you seem like you’re unable to do any of this,” said Kolby Syverson of Volin.

Syverson took down the first deer of the weekend and made sure to document the occasion with “war paint” on his face.
