Sloane Dawes played hero for Montclair Kimberley Academy with a game-winning goal in overtime to clinch a 2-1 win against Kearny in Montclair.

It’s the freshman’s first career goal. Dawes was assisted by Shirley Rivera, who had two helpers in the game.

Zoe Johnson (MKA) and Niamh Devlin (Kearny) traded second-half goals to force the extra periods.

Goalies Casey Brown (Kearny) and Olivia Davis (MKA) combined for 14 saves.

Montclair Academy is 3-2 after snapping a two-game skid.

Kearny drops to 2-2-1.
