Cardi B recently shared details about her childbirth experiences during an appearance on "The Breakfast Club." The rapper revealed that she suffered a significant tear while giving birth to her second child, Wave, due to his size. "My second baby, he too big — he broke me," Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, said. She added, "The first one, I had to stitch," referring to her vaginal delivery.
According to medical sources, minor vaginal tears are common during childbirth, especially if the baby's head is larger than the vaginal opening or if the vagina does not stretch easily. When co-host JessHilarious asked how she managed to use the bathroom after the delivery, Cardi described the experience as "hard."
Despite the challenges, Cardi expressed confidence about her future pregnancies. "Now things are just a little different and I’m more experienced," she said. She noted that her third delivery was much easier and expressed hope that her upcoming birth would also go smoothly.
Cardi B confirmed her fourth pregnancy on Wednesday, following months of speculation. She is expecting a child with her new boyfriend, Stefon Diggs. "I’m excited, I’m happy, I feel like I’m in a good space," she told Gayle King on "CBS Mornings," mentioning that she is due before her tour begins in February.
The rapper explained her decision to keep the pregnancy private for a while, stating, "I felt like can I just say it on my own time? I’m not hiding." In addition to Wave and her upcoming baby, Cardi is also a mother to Blossom, 1, and Kulture, her daughter with estranged husband Offset. The couple had an on-again, off-again relationship from 2017 to 2024. After the birth of their first two children, Cardi filed for divorce again from Offset in August.
