Erika Kirk waves to supporters who gathered to watch as a motorcade escorted the body of Charlie Kirk to Hansen Mortuary Chapel in Phoenix on Sept. 11, 2025.

A public memorial service for Charlie Kirk is slated for Sunday, Sept. 21 in Glendale, Arizona, more than a week after he was fatally shot in Utah.

Charlie Kirk, one of the nation’s most influential conservative activists, was killed Sept. 10 by a single gunshot while speaking to a crowd of thousands at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City.

His assassination has ignited a firestorm across the country. The suspect in the attack, Tyler Robinson, was arraigned on Sept. 16 on seven felony charges, including aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. Local prosecutors have said they will seek the death penalty.

The 31-year-old activist and founder of Turning Point USA was a controversial figure, inspiring millions of people and infuriating millions of others with his hard-line conservative views and often incendiary language on everything from abortion, race and gender to gay marriage and gun rights.

The Arizona memorial service is likely to attract thousands of mourners. Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk's wife, will deliver keynote remarks, days after Turning Point USA elected her to lead the organization as its new CEO, stepping into her late-husband's role.

She will appear in Arizona alongside many prominent conservative and Republican figures and lawmakers. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are also set to speak at the memorial, according to a Sept. 17 social media post from Turning Point USA. Charlie Kirk's body was transported by Air Force Two from Salt Lake City, Utah, to the Phoenix mortuary on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025.
