A man died early Sunday after police found him in an overturned vehicle with a gunshot wound, according to Chicago police.

Officers, while responding to a call for a crash, found the man, 20, in a silver SUV turned on its side in the 10100 block of South Avenue M at 12:34 a.m., police said.

He had been shot in the head and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he later died.

A weapon was recovered at the scene in the East Side neighborhood; no one is in custody, police said.
