ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- One person was killed and several others were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in Rocky Mount, according to police

It happened around 6 a.m. in the 2100 block of Benvenue Rd.

The Rocky Mount Police Department confirmed five people were shot in total. One person has died due to their injuries, while the other four were taken to a medical facility with gunshot injuries. Their conditions remain unknown.
