Conditions were perfect for an IHSAA girls golf sectional at Crestview Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 20, and competitors took advantage with a few history-making performances.

Muncie Central served as the host for Sectional 17, which featured Blue River Valley, Daleville, Delta, Jay County, Monroe Central, Muncie Burris, Muncie Central, Union City, Wapahani, Wes-Del, Winchester Community and Yorktown. After about six hours of competition, Yorktown emerged as the sectional champions, while Monroe Central and Delta rounded out the top three teams that would advance to regionals.
