ATLANTA — Jurors heard more testimony Friday in the trial for the man accused of killing 8-year-old Secoriea Turner five years ago.
One police detective's testimony led the defense to ask the judge to declare a mistrial. However, the judge did not grant the defense's motion and the trial will continue on Monday.
Julian Conley is accused of murdering Secoriea in July 2020, when the car she was riding in was shot up at the intersection of Pryor Street and University Avenue. The car passed through during the height of protests after Rayshard Brooks was shot and killed by an Atlanta Police officer in that area a month earlier. The trial for a man accused of felony murder in the shooting death of 8-year-old Secoriea Turner in Atlanta five years ago continues on Friday.
