PARIS (AP) — The French soccer league has postponed Sunday night's match between host Marseille and leader Paris Saint-Germain by almost 24 hours because of severe weather forecast for the region.

The LFP said in a statement that the match will now be played at Marseille's Stade Velodrome in southern France on Monday at 8 p.m. local time (1800 GMT). French weather forecasters said there would be heavy rain and storms on Sunday night, making for a safety hazard and unplayable conditions.

The decision appeared to prevent most PSG players from attending the Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris on Monday night, with striker Ousmane Dembélé favored to win and among nine PSG players nominated for the men's award.
